Third Thursday Lecture: Dr. Keith Holland & The Maple Leaf Anniversary

4/23/2014

TTL2014
The Third Thursday Lecture originally scheduled for May, has been moved to June 19. In keeping with our year long Maple Leaf Anniversary Celebration, Dr. Keith Holland will be giving a special presentation to the public. Dr. Holland is responsible for finding the Maple Leaf wreckage under five feet of mud below the bottom of the St. Johns River. He then spent ten years developing the St. Johns Archaeological Expeditions Inc., obtaining legal rights to salvage the shipwreck, recovering and preserving over 3000 artifacts which were then given to the Florida Division of Historical Resources in Tallahassee.  His presentation is sure not only to inform you, but also inspire you. Learn about why this shipwreck has so much national significance.  Event is scheduled for June 19.  Lecture starts at 7 p.m. with light refreshments at 6:30 p.m.

For more information, please call the Mandarin Museum & Historical Society at (904) 268-0784 or e-mail mandarinmuseum@bellsouth.net.
