The Mandarin Community Club held its annual holiday dinner and general membership meeting on December 8 at the Club Building, 12447 Mandarin Road. The theme this year was "Plaid Tidings." Members and guests were encouraged to wear plaid and join in the fun. One of the highlights of the evening was a performance on the bagpipes by Club member and former City Councilman Jack Webb.
The election of Board members and members at large for 2015 also took place that evening. Those who will be serving next year are listed under "About" on this site. Next on the calendar for the MCC will be the start of the 2015 Membership Drive on January 1 and the 47th annual Mandarin Art Festival slated for Easter weekend April 4 and 5. The historic schoolhouse has finally been acquired and almost ready to be moved to its new home at Walter Jones Historic Park. Check out the news article on Jacksonville.com.
