11/10/2015

December is fast approaching and so is our annual meeting and holiday celebration on December 7th.  This year's theme is Heritage Holiday.  Members are encouraged to share your heritage holiday tradition through attire and food.  Please bring an appetizer, side dish, or dessert to share for this holiday event.  The Club will provide the traditional holiday fare entrée of ham and smoked turkey, as well as beverages.  We encourage our membership to attend this annual event as we wrap-up the year.  Event is limited to membership but membership guests are always welcome.

As always, this holiday season, please share your bounty with those less fortunate.  We are collecting non-perishable food donations for the Mandarin Food Bank & Food Pantry of the Mandarin Presbyterian Church the evening of the event.

Mandarin Community Club Honors Veterans

11/8/2015

Picture
The Mandarin Community Club observed Veterans Day with a ceremony on Sunday afternoon, November 8th. Held within the Club building, 12447 Mandarin Road, Club members and members of the Mandarin community gathered to honor and pay tribute to our veterans.

Our thanks to all who came out despite the inclement weather. Special thanks to the American Heritage Girls, FL Troop #1512, honored guest and speaker, Don Chandler, speakers Bruce Scott and Representative Charles McBurney, and Don Reynolds of the NE FL Conservatory for their participation this year. MCC President, Susie Scott, was the program's moderator.

The Mandarin Community Club developed and dedicated the Billard Commemorative Park in 2007 and has held a veterans tribute in the Park every November since. Due to inclement weather, the ceremony was held indoors this year with plans for the wreath to be set in place at the Park's Veterans Monument on Veterans Day, November 11th.

Check our Facebook gallery for more photos from this event.
